The Leningrad Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry is the youngest Chamber in the system of regional chambers in Russian Federation.
Within 7 years it has become not only the largest chamber (over 4700 members) in Russia, but a fertile soil in which effective relations between business and authorities in our region are built. The legal basis for such relations is compiled by agreements of cooperation between the Chamber, the Government, and the Legislative Assembly of the Leningrad Region.
Chamber Council is a consultative body that functions at the LRCCI and assembles chairmen of the Committees – directors of the leading enterprises and organizations of the Leningrad region and Saint Petersburg. There are 16 Committees. Membership in the Committees is not fixed. Each LRCCI member may become a member of any Committee or a member of several Committees.
The Association of Exporters and Importers is an effective body that organizes seminars and meetings giving its members the chance to discuss different topics and find solutions to many problems that appear while conducting foreign economic and trade activities in cooperation with representatives of Regional and State Offices. Today it accounts around 200 members.
Since March 2010 operates Foreign Business Club. It unites foreigners working in Saint Petersburg and Leningrad Region and holding managerial positions. Foreign Club serves as an international forum for social and cultural exchange, and for sharing working and living experience in Russia and elsewhere.
The main activities of the club are:
• Organization of social events, seminars, and tours of NW Russia and beyond
• Support foreigners - especially newcomers - with community information, and with advice on legal, educational and other matters
• Giving Members group access to State and Municipal structures and NGO’s, and developingdialogbetween them
The Arbitration Court by LRCCI acts as an independent body of arbitration of civil trials between Russian as well as foreign entrepreneurs. Oleg Skvortsov – Court Chairman, Doctor of Law, assistant professor of Law Faculty of Saint Petersburg State University.
Every year together with the Government of the Leningrad Region the LRCCI organizes Winter Assembly. It is important event in the business calendar of the region. The Assembly is attended by representatives of the Government of the Leningrad region, members of the board of the LRCCI, Council members, Heads of the companies-members of the LRCCI and other organizations of the region. At the Winter Assembly the LRCCI presents an annual award “Business that develops the Region” which favors the most successful and socially oriented enterprises.
The Leningrad Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry issues 2 monthly magazines: “Business territory” and an information-bulletin “Tovarish”. Annually our Chamber issues “LRCCI members Guidebook”.
We continue to develop the relationship between our Chamber and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, other regional chambers in Russia, and different organizations and entrepreneur associations.
Within the Structure of the Chamber there are 8 departments which provide various services for entrepreneurs from the Leningrad Region and St. Petersburg. A wide network of branch offices were created in the cities of the Leningrad Region, namely Gatchina, Kingisepp, Luga, Priozersk, Tikhvin, Tosno, Sosnovyj Bor, Volkhov, Vsevolozhsk, Vyborg.
