He mentioned the last visit of delegation to Ankara organized by LRCCI which resulted in signing the Agreement of Cooperation between LRCCI and Ankara Chamber of Industry. The parties agreed to exchange experience in economic sphere. The experience of Turkish colleagues in building and operating of industrial zones attracted Russian delegation members most of all. First industrial park was built and started operating in Ankara in 1990. Today there are 268 companies with more than 20 thousands of employees operating there. The park includes three zones: industrial, recreation and service zone. The management of the park is provided by associated company of Ankara Chamber of Industry. More than 100 industrial zones operate in Turkey nowadays. Ten years ago Turkish Chambers of Industry obtained permission for carrying not only technical support of zones but for issuing licenses for different kinds of activities.
President of LRCCI Mr. R. Ismagilov took a great interest in the project and new opportunities opening for business and regional economy in general.
During the briefing Mr. R. Ismagilov claimed that first steps in realization of the project in the Leningrad Region have already been made. He also stated that Governor Mr. V. Serdyukov gave positive evaluation of building of such zone on the territory of the Leningrad Region.
Today negotiations between Turkish building companies that will be ready to assume all the works dealing with building of zone and all necessary infrastructures are being held.
“Turkish partners expressed their consent to participate in building of industrial zone and the large delegation that has arrived proves the seriousness of our colleagues…” – said Mr. R. Ismagilov. Meanwhile Ankara Chamber of Industry Vice Chairman Mr. Nurettin Özdebir stated that today Turkey is the second country in the world after China for building sector level activity level. He showed assurance that the project will be realized by joint affords.
Vice-governor of the Leningrad Region Mr. Grigory Dvas said that this project has already entered its practical stage: “After meeting with “Renaissance Construction” representatives we prepared 4 offers for possible areas of zone’s location. During the nearest 3 days we will prepare several more. It is too early to tell where exactly the zone will be located, but we can assume that it can be placed near the Ring road or A-120 road”. Consultant for building is “Renaissance Construction”, company that has operated in Russia for more than 17 years. Major managing partners will be LRCCI and Ankara Chamber of Industry. As to the investors, Mr. G. Dvas claimed that it won’t be one company but syndicate.
As a result a new industrial zone will arise in the Leningrad Region where some Turkish companies will open their enterprises to produce directly in the consumer country. Possibly new plants producing auto parts for existing auto manufactures could be opened. All parties emphasized that working inside the industrial zone will be more convenient for companies because of combined infrastructure. Mr. R. Ismagilov expressed his expectation than not only Turkish but also Russian companies will participate in this project.
